More Implications from Gravity and Gladness


I want to go back to the well one more time to build on the summary Piper’s seminar, Gravity and Gladness and apply these truths even more directly and specifically to corporate worship. Even as I tease out these implications, some of what I have written comes from his lectures directly and all of it is built on them.

We were created to reflect the glory of God by delighting in Him. We were created to worship. Again, true worship is a joyful satisfaction in God for who He is and what He has done, is doing, and will do and it overflows as expressions of affection for God and other people. Thus, when the church gathers for corporate worship, her individual members are joining together to delight in God. We are stirring that delight in Him and expressing it.
